Growing the intercommunal tree of innovation and social entrepreneurship

The United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) is stepping up efforts to highlight the importance of young entrepreneurs working together to develop innovative approaches to the many challenges faced by communities across the island since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In collaboration with the Center for Social Innovation, CyprusInno and NICO, UNFICYP has developed a series of activities, which will kick off with an online live panel discussion with innovators and entrepreneurs from varying fields.

UNFICYP is focusing on highlighting the importance of innovation and social entrepreneurship for an inclusive economy, with an emphasis on participation of youth and women. Intercommunal social entrepreneurship is an effective way to develop sustainable collaborations in communities with socioeconomic differences. It will also help bring the two communities closer together, building trust and confidence between them.

The online panel discussion will take place on Wednesday 2 June, from 18:00-19:30 EET.

Participants are welcome to bring in their own experiences, listen and address their questions to our guest speakers, Mr. Hussein Chalayan, awarded fashion designer and Mr. Argyris Argyrou, founder at Ideas2life, Foody & AtYourService. The discussion will be moderated by UNFICYP’s Spokesperson, Aleem Siddique.
