This event is designed to explore the complexities of coexistence and conflict in Cyprus through historical and contemporary lenses.
What to expect:
Hands-on Learning: Participate in experiential activities and case studies to gain a deeper understanding of coexistence and conflict in Cyprus.
Expert Insights: Mete Hatay’s presentation on antagonistic tolerance, homogenisation, and displacement, shedding light on critical issues that have shaped Cyprus over time.
Creative Reflection: Wrap up the day with forward-looking, creative activities to envision coexistence in tomorrow’s Cyprus.

The workshop is organized in collaboration with PRIO Cyprus Centre and bαhçές Histories* of Cyprus and is part of UNFICYP’s ‘Peacebuilding in Divided Societies’ programme, which aims to strengthen women and youth people’s input to discussions on peace and security, with a focus on peacebuilding, social action, leadership, negotiation, and mediation processes.
