Young Cypriots come together to discuss innovative business ideas
Young people are coming together and collaborating to tackle environmental and social problems with creative business ideas in Cyprus.
The Famagusta Students Together, an entrepreneurship programme supported by UNFICYP, gathered 26 students from both communities over the last month to share their business ideas on solving common social problems on the island.
During the meetings, they shared thoughts and worked collaboratively to address issues ranging from the reduction of carbon footprint to ending violence against women.
The programme was initially designed to help establish relations between teachers and students of Famagusta with a series of in-person meetings. However, because of the outbreak of COVID-19, the sessions had to be shifted to online discussions.
UNFICYP' support to such initiatives aims to strengthen the dialogue with young people from across the island and their participation in conflict prevention and peacebuilding.
