About our Young Leaders in Action: Inclusion of Women and Youth in Peacebuilding workshop

Young Leaders in Action: Inclusion of Women and Youth in Peacebuilding is an action within the ‘Peacebuilding in Divided Societies’ programme implemented by the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus, in collaboration with the British Council and the British High Commission in Nicosia.

Τhe programme aims to strengthen women and young people’s input to discussions on peace and security, with a focus on peacebuilding, social action, leadership, negotiation and mediation processes. It includes an immersive workshop that aims to empower the next generation of young leaders and peacebuilders across Cyprus to take action on issues related to the inclusion of women and youth.

The workshop will be facilitated by us and will take place online. COVID-19 permitting, the workshop sessions will be delivered face-to-face in Nicosia (subject to national COVID-19 regulations), with the option for accommodation for people living outside of Nicosia.

Young Leaders in Action will focus on equipping participants with the tools and strategies needed to support them to develop their own intercommunal social action projects. Small grants will be provided for the implementation of their ideas. Details of the application process for the small grants will be announced in January 2022.
