Peacebuilding in divided societies workshops

Are you aged between 23-30 and enthusiastic in making a change in your community and in being active in peacebuilding?  If yes, then these workshops are for you!

As part of UNFICYP’s efforts to strengthen women’s perspectives on issues related to peace and security and broader engagement with young people, UNFICYP is supporting a series of workshops geared towards empowering youth engagement on issues related to peacebuilding, negotiation and mediation processes, including sessions on women, peace and security.

The first in this series of events is a 2-part interactive workshop on peacebuilding in divided societies that UNFICYP is organizing in collaboration with the Institute of World Affairs.  The workshops will focus on theoretical and practical tools for building durable peace and key challenges and opportunities for transformation in divided societies.  

Dates:
Workshop 1: Thursday, 3 June from 6-8 pm
Workshop 2: Monday, 7 June from 6-8 pm

Who are we looking for?
-    Youth aged 23-30 years old from all communities living in Cyprus. Based on availability and relevant experience and interest, spots may be available outside of this age category.
-    Strong interest in peacebuilding and women’s involvement in peace processes 
-    Commitment to join both workshops 
-    Interest in joining other relevant workshops UNFICYP will be organizing in the coming months 
-    Fluency in English

How to apply: 
Complete the application form by 24 May: Peacebuilding in divided societies workshops

Selected participants will be informed by 28 May. 

Upon the completion of the workshops, participants will be given a certificate of participation. 

Both sessions will be held virtually.
