Polymnia Glykeriou is part of a group of 24 Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots who are working with UNFICYP to promote actions on environmental peacebuilding in Cyprus.
In September and October, UNFICYP underwent its bi-annual rotation, during which the Force’s troop contributing countries rotate their contingents on the island.
To mark World Cleanup Day, observed on 19 September, UNFICYP personnel including its Head of Mission, Ms. Elizabeth Spehar, rolled up their sleeves together with the UNFICYP Youth Champions for Environment and Peace to clean up parts of the buffer zone.
