Earlier today, H.E. Mr. Gustavo R. Zlauvinen, Argentina's Under Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Gabriel Alejandro Jorquera, Deputy Head of Mission for the Argentinian Embassy in Israel, visited UNFICYP HQ, where they met the Special Representative of the Secretary-General in Cyprus and Head of Mission, Ms. Elizabeth Spehar, and UNFICYP Force Commander Major General Mohammad Humayun Kabir.

Argentina is one of UNFICYP's largest troop contributors, commanding UN Flight and Sector One, which covers a distance of approximately 90 kilometers from Kokkina village on the western coast of Cyprus to the village of Mammari, west of Nicosia.
