On 12 November, two new crossing points opened for the first time in eight years. Dozens of people from the island’s Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot community streamed across the eastern Dherynia crossing point, walking past United Nations peacekeepers. At the same time, the Lefka/Aplici crossing opened in the northwest of the eastern Mediterranean island.
