15 December 2015 - This week’s Afghanistan Emrooz focuses on achievements and challenges in the area of children’s rights in Afghanistan. It discusses key activities undertaken in relation to the issue children’s rights over the past 14 years. The programme also discusses recommendations offered by human rights activists and UNAMA’s human rights unit for further improvement and advancements of children’s rights in this country.

17 November 2015 - The fourth and final episode in a series of special ‘Afghanistan Emrooz’ radio programmes celebrating the unique partnership between Afghans and the United Nations, as part of the UN 70th anniversary celebrations, is broadcast this week. This episode highlights the work of Afghan professionals working in the areas of cultural heritage and environmental protection: Habib Noori, Director of the Afghanistan Cultural Heritage Consulting Organization, along with Kobra and Naikbakht, Park Rangers at Bamyan’s Band-e-Amir National Park.

10 November 2015 - The third episode in a series of special Afghanistan Emrooz radio programmes to mark the unique partnership between Afghans and the United Nations, as part of the UN 70th anniversary celebrations, is broadcast this week. This episode features two Afghan professionals: Mohammad Dad, Founder of the Chonghar-Morghgeeran Youth Association and Ghulam Nabi, Owner of the Nangarhar Agricultural Company.

3 November 2015 - The second episode in a series of special Afghanistan Emrooz radio programmes to mark the unique partnership between Afghans and the United Nations as part of the 70th UN anniversary celebrations is broadcast this week. This episode features two Afghan professionals: Magheferat Samimi, Head of Afghan Human Rights Organization of Jowzjan, Sari-Pul & Faryab Provinces and Rahima Ahmadi, polio vaccination coordinator.

20 October 2015 - This week’s episode of Afghanistan Emrooz radio programme focuses on the role of the police, the prosecutor and the court in Afghanistan’s judicial system. What rights does a suspect have and what does it mean to have the right to a defense lawyer? This episode also explores the importance and benefits of having an independent judicial system in the country.

13 October 2015 - This week’s Afghanistan Emrooz focuses on the due process in criminal proceedings. The programme takes a look at the step by step procedure under taken by authorities of Afghanistan’s judicial system in regards to arrests, interrogation of suspects and a suspect’s rights before the law.

29 September 2015 - This week’s Afghanistan Emrooz radio programme focuses on the Global Open Day on Women and Peace, an event that has recently been celebrated throughout Afghanistan. The radio programme looks at the role of Afghan women in peace building and discusses how they can be part of the process. The programme underlines about the importance of women in the peace process and challenges they face.

23 September 2015 - Continued international engagement in Afghanistan is critical to avoid waves of people from leaving the country, the top UN official has stated. 8 September 2015 - This week’s Afghanistan Emrooz programme focuses on access to quality healthcare as an aspect of human rights. The programme not only details the human rights issues of health services, but also identifies the changes the government is making to extend their activities to provide better healthcare service.
