UNFICYP Force Commander Major General Mohammad Humayun Kabir last week undertook inspections of the mission’s Sectors and the Mobile Force Reserve unit in order to assess their preparedness to fulfill their duties.

Between 21 and 25 November, General Humayun accompanied HQ operational branch personnel during their operational validations, when sector troops are expected to solve different operational scenarios related to recent incidents. This validation process is designed to assist the Force Commander in identifying each unit’s strengths and weaknesses. During the inspection, Sector Commanders can address problems that affect their unit performance and try to identify appropriate remedial actions.

Following the inspections, the Force Commander expressed satisfaction with troops’ performance and their preparedness to fulfill mission’s mandate during their tour.
